Welcome to Switzerland County

Rich in history, art, outdoor fun and of course, wine, Vevay, Indiana was named after the Swiss town of Vevey in Canton Vaud, Switzerland.

Vevay, Indiana has come a long way since the early 1800s when John James Dufour of Switzerland first settled here with dreams of making wine in Indiana.

Come enjoy the day or weekend taking in the many shops, restaurants and artists who call Vevay home.

The Visitor’s Center provides county information including on businesses, museums, eateries, and lodging throughout the county. They also provide ticket sales for events throughout the year.
